Heavenly Father Answers Prayers

Posted on Aug 5, 2014 in Eureka | 0 comments

I’m still alive I just didn’t get a letter written this week! I know I said I would last week, but here is this week and all I can promise is that I know I’ll have something next week (trying to see how many weeks I can fit in a sentence. I know that Heavenly Father answers prayers. I really know that. And I know that the prayers that parents have for their kids really do make a difference! I’ve seen it with a less active, don’t stop praying for them! I know he answers our prayers and he does bring us peace when we have nothing else. God is Great! And prayer really is hard work. Love you all, Sister Hayden

Cardinals Game

Posted on Jul 28, 2014 in Eureka | 0 comments

So we got to go to the cardinals game this last tuesday, that was fun. All the missionaries in the 4 zones closest to St. louis got to go, so like 2/3 of the missionaries in our mission. It was a lot of fun but I think I’m still trying to catch up on the lack of sleep from getting home around midnight. We were all in proselyting clothes but could wear cardinals hats We also are taking care of the other area in our ward for the rest of this transfer due to moving people around so now we have a new set of investigators to meet. The tricky part will be making sure the work is continuing in both areas because at the end of the transfer there will be another set...

Lose Yourself and Find Him

Well transfers were this last week. It was pretty weird cause it’s the first time I’ve ever had to do anything since the first transfer meeting when I got here. So one of the other sisters came to my area and our companions went to transfer meeting and we just did missionary stuff/lunch until the new ones came back. So almost one week with Sister Sudweeks as my companion, she actually was in the middle of training so this transfer came as a bit of a shock for her. Her and her trainee were expecting to stay together until she went home. But she’s from California in the bay area. Before transfers we had a district p-day which was super fun, we just...

Heavenly Father Knows His Children

Mark is going in the MTC this week! Crazy! I feel like he just opened his mission call a couple weeks ago. Can’t wait to hear all about it and see pictures! Well we got transfer calls on Saturday and I am staying in Eureka and Sister Vilingia is going somewhere in Illinois. I have absolutely loved being companions with her! So many people in the ward came up to tell her that they were going to miss her, which doesn’t happen that often if you stop to think about it. My new companion will be Sister Sudweeks and she is actually going to die here so I guess that means I’ll kill her off (it’s her last transfer). I can’t wait to meet her on...

Fourth of JULY

Posted on Jul 7, 2014 in Eureka | 0 comments

July already, whaat? We actually got to stay out later for the fourth of july, we spent it with a couple in our ward and had dinner and then went to watch fireworks that were pretty close to our apartment.  We had a regular day until 5 pm then we had to have our cars parked and could do things with members if they picked us up.  So that was fun, Sis. V straightened my hair before we went to dinner just for the fun of it cause it’s always curly.  It was pretty funny the wife wondered if I got it cut which is honestly most people’s question when I straighten my hair, but the husband said at first he thought we’d had transfers till he looked at my...

Cliff’s Baptism!

Posted on Jun 30, 2014 in Eureka | 0 comments

Hi and I hope you all have a great fourth of July!  I was talking to someone in the ward yesterday and the topic of Iowa came up and it dawned on me that Mark is going to be coming in the hottest time of the year  It is just going to get warmer but apparently so far we’ve had a pretty mild spring/beginning of summer.  Anyway bet he’ll love that So Cliff got baptized on Saturday and his wife was there, it was a really nice baptism.  In the beginning though, we get there to set up and one of the elders were kinda just making noise on the piano so sister v asked me to play something.  So I played a couple of Children’s songbook songs I know and...
